Not dead, just sleeping

Hiii .... still here, on occasion. Hi Saf. :) I've very much been enjoying your near-daily posts, keep up the good work!

Nothing really new and/or interesting to report (although I do have a list of things that I wanted to write about, but haven't gotten around to yet)...my life is mostly sleep, commute, work, commute sleep. Which isn't bad, just tiring, which leads to the desire to ... sleep! And not write much. Apologies.

The morning commute didn't use to be so bad, although it was quite alien to me to be up and leaving the house at the same time as the sunrise. At least it was pretty, and there was a gorgeous pink light that preceded the full sunrise. Now when I get up and leave the house, it still looks like nighttime - which really doesn't help with the feeling that its way too early to be up and I should still be in bed. I sometimes can still see the sunsets on the train ride home, and fascinating patterns in the clouds, but soon that too will pass, and I'll be travelling both ways in the dark. I often wish that I could be a bear in the winter months, just curl up in a nice warm cave and hibernate all season. Maybe wake up now & then to take in the beauty of the crisp, clean, newly fallen snow... then doze off again until April.

The past 3 weekends in a row I have made loaves of lemon poppyseed bread - very yummy. The taste of fresh homemade bread, with a hint of lemon and crunch of the seeds. A new family favorite, although I got the first loaf almost all to myself.

Unfortunately, this weekend is going to break that stretch ... as I am participating in a wedding, and thus, am guessing that I will have little time for much else. Should be a fun time though, I'm looking forward to it! Hoping it doesn't snow though, as that may make for some chilliness (strapless dress & all). Precautions have been taken to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions, and I *think* that I can handle the shoes. Fingers crossed that I don't trip (although they're fairly solid heels, should be fine). Pictures, stories etc to follow soon.

That's all I got for now ...
