Music on my mind
Songs that are in my head/are favorites at the moment:
From the radio
Run, Rex Goudie - really really like this, although only recently, and I think its been on the radio awhile. Didn't realize until today that it was the latest Canadian Idol runner up ..oh well.
Baby, just run ...
You're Beautiful, James Blunt - another one thats been played for awhile, but I only decided that I liked this week. The first few times I heard it (awhile ago now) I could have sworn it was a female singing - a low voiced female, of which there are several distinctive artists. Still think his voice sounds kind of girly, but whatever works for him.
From a movie
All I Know, Five for Fighting - okay, been liking this one for awhile, ever since I saw Chicken Little in mid December. So pretty, and I love the lyrics. (I think I already wrote about this one ..ah well)
From a CD
The Hard & The Easy, Great Big Sea - I think my 2 favorite songs on it are The Mermaid and The River Driver. The Mermaid because of the story it tells (here fishy fishy ... show me your fin!), and The River Driver because of its acapella nature, and the thumping drum that keeps time and sounds like a heartbeat.
From a deep dark embarrassing place
LOVE, Ashlee Simpson - damn song is kind of catchy and cute. Although the spelling part is a bit silly/nonsensical at time (ello, ello, ello, vee, ee?), it tends to be the part that gets stuck in my head! Ah well. Little fluff never hurt anyone (except perhaps by reputation, lol).

2 Comments:
'You're beautiful' came on my bus today and the driver turned it down, which really annoyed me, but I sat back somewhat buddhistically and tried to catch the main notes and filled in the rest by myself. It is a lovely song. He has a high voice (he's only a small guy, though videos can be deceptive), but to me his voice conveys real passion - especially in 'Goodbye, my lover', an excellent song. I saw him sing it live on tv and he lived the song as he sang it. A good choice.

From a deep, dark, embarassing place: I still love listening to all my Westlife CDs ... *blush*
