End of an Era

The Harry Potter Era, that is. The final book has been released into the mainstream, the saga is complete. Except I, unlike many other people that I know, haven't obtained a copy yet. I will, its ordered, I just need to go pick it up - but even then, I won't be diving into it right away. I want to know how the story ends, yes, but I want to hang on to the mystery a bit longer too, savor the suspense. So far so good with avoiding spoilers ... I hope it stays that way. I want to find out for myself!

Leslie & I went down to Bay St ... pardon me, 'Diagon Alley' to see some of the festivities leading up to midnight. It was a mob of people, and while it was interesting to see, I wouldn't have wanted to stick around until midnight. Not a fan of crowds.

We had a good time poking through other bookstores during the evening though, Eliot's and BMV, both of which have much more character (and better pricing) then the big box Indigo. We wandered our way along Bloor, taking silly pictures of things, and finished off with a yummy sushi snack. What more could you ask for from a Friday night?

  • I agree - I am unwilling to see the saga end. although I must admit I was getting a bit tired of all the media hype. I certainly won't miss that.
My sister and I also went to the book release! There was a small release party at one of the larger stores here in Barbados. there was a costume contest - but since Barbadians aren't big into those sorts of costumes only three people dressed up. the winner was this tiny little Harry Potter with humungous glasses. he was SOOOO CUTE!!!!!!
my sister wore a black skirt over her shoulders as a cape! She answered a lot of the trivia questions and is actually going to win a prize for it. haha - we're such nerds!
we finished off our evening with delicious Fried fish (though sushi would have been yummy too). Indeed, what more could one ask of a Friday night?!
